Friday, January 24, at 8pm, the Phoenix Chamber Music Society presents the Takács Quartet, one of the world’s great chamber music ensembles at the Camelback Bible Church in Paradise Valley. K-Bach’s Sterling Beeaff chats with first violinist Edward Dusinberre about his career with the quartet and the upcoming concert.

The Phoenix Symphony and Principal Guest Conductor JoAnn Falletta welcome harpist Yolanda Kondonassis this week. The concert includes Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, the familiar Rumanian Rhapsody by Georges Enesco and a concerto Ms. Kondonassis is touring with this season – the less familiar harp concerto by the Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera. This Saturday, January 4th, 7:30PM, the Oracle Piano Society and Friends of the Tempe Center for the Arts will present the younger Paul Harvey’s “Picture Rachmaninoff” at Tempe Center for the Arts. Starring Artistic Director and pianist Stephen Cook, the one man show is a celebration of Rachmaninoff’s Etudes Tableaux with, poetry, images and a human portrait of a great pianist and composer.
