Or call 1-855-825-2224
How does my vehicle donation help the station?
When you donate your vehicle to KBACH, it’s sold at a private auction and the sale proceeds are sent on to the station. These funds directly support the classical music you hear on KBACH.
What are the benefits for me?
You become a member of KBACH and will receive membership benefits like:
Loyalty Card discounts at Valley businesses
Movie Club offers to attend movie debuts & film screenings
Public Radio Weekly e-newsletter with exclusive ticket giveaways
How do I go about donating my vehicle?
Simply call (855) 825-2224 or fill out this form. We’ll take care of everything for you. It really is that simple!
You can donate nearly any vehicle you own to the station as long as the vehicle has an engine and is towable and you have a signed, clear title in your name with no liens on it.
If you have lost your title, just visit a State of Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) office, complete a title application, and check the “Title Only” and “Duplicate” boxes on the top of the form. Be prepared to show a photo ID, such as your driver’s license or state ID card. The MVD will issue you a duplicate title for $4. Unfortunately, KBACH cannot help you with this process.
You do not have to be present at the time of vehicle pickup as special arrangements can be made by calling our representative.
What are the advantages of donating my vehicle?
You will avoid the stressful process of selling your vehicle. That means:
- no advertising
- no getting your vehicle appraised
- no communicating with potential buyers
- no paying for registration, inspection, insurance, or repairs
- no dealing with taxes after the sale is closed
You won’t even have to pay for the tow truck when KBACH picks up your vehicle!
If your vehicle sells for less than $500, you can write off its entire fair market value on your tax return. The receipt provided to you at the time of pickup will serve as your tax receipt.
If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you can write off the gross proceeds raised from its sale. You won’t have the burden of determining the value of your vehicle yourself because we’ll mail you an IRS Form 1098-C, “Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes,” within one month of the sale stating the amount of gross proceeds received for your vehicle, provided it sold for more than $500.
Vehicle donations committed by midnight on December 31st are considered donations for that tax year, even if the vehicle is picked up and sold after January 1st.
