Katrina Becker

Announcer, Producer, and Public Affairs Coordinator

With a start on the violin at four, and piano lessons a few years later, Katrina Becker has always enjoyed a life filled with classical music, including playing with the Mesa Symphony, the West Valley Symphony, and the Flagstaff Symphony, as well as working as operations coordinator for The Phoenix Symphony. She received a B.A. in religious studies with a minor in music performance from Northern Arizona University on scholarship, and currently performs with Ensemble Indigo, the Renaissance Quartet, and several other Valley ensembles. Katrina has also acted as moderator for The Phoenix Symphony's pre-concert "Musically Speaking" discussions for the Thursday night Classics series, and especially enjoys coordinating KBAQ's outreach activities in the community, including Ballet Under the Stars appearances in Valley parks for Ballet Arizona, live Metropolitan Opera High-Definition broadcasts in local movie theaters, and partnerships with Arizona Opera.

Away from KBAQ, Katrina enjoys spending time with her husband and her father and playing chamber music with her sister. Her family also includes Tartini, an energetic dog rescued from the pound.

Katrina handles outreach and community events for KBAQ; she also hosts Saturday at the Opera on 89.5, and she's on the air every Sunday from 11AM to 3PM and Monday and Tuesday evenings starting at 7PM.
