Publisher after publisher turned down the script,  declaring it “Too different”, and “difficult for children”,  but Madeliene L’Engle persisted, and in 1962, her novel, A Wrinkle in Time was published –an instant hit with children and young adults. The Newberry Medal winning science fiction book follows the story of 12 year old Meg, the daughter of a scientist who disappears while working on a top secret government project. Childsplay brings the popular children's story to life with a new stage adaptation by John Glore, directed by Childsplay Associate Artist and Playwright-in-Residence, Dwayne Hartford.

Performances of "A Wrinkle in Time" will be held at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway on April 21- May 26, Saturdays at 1 pm and 4 pm and Sundays at 1 pm. Tickets start at $12 and are on sale now at www.childsplayaz.org or at the Tempe Center for the Arts Box Office (480) 350-2822 (ext. 0).
