This August the Grand Canyon Music Festival's Native American Composer Apprenticeship program is celebrating 10 years of music making. String quartet ETHEL has been the ensemble-in-residence for the program from its inception. ETHEL Cellist Dorothy Lawson spoke with K-BACH about the process of creating music with youth from the Navajo and Hopi communities.

Valley Residents will have an opportunity to hear the fruits of ETHEL’s collaboration with the Native American Apprenticeship Project on Monday, August 25 at 5 p.m. Scottsdale Community College Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
