Bobby D. Ehlert, CEO of Call To Auction, wins the World Automobile Auctioneers Championship 2015 in Las Vegas Nevada. Ehlert competed for the WAAC title against 138 other auctioneers at Manheim Nevada Auto Auction on April 17th and called his way to the top to become the new World Champion.

Bobby’s wife and kids sent him funny videos of encouragement before the competition and knew they were watching him live online and he wanted to make them proud.  Ehlert was the last contestant to compete. When he walked up on the stage he told himself, “Be me, and show the judges this is what I love to do”.

Bobby D. is a second generation auctioneer and had his favorite Ringman working the crowd, his brother and fellow auctioneer, Noah Ehlert.  Bobby D. said having Noah there was so special because they came up through the business together.  Bobby’s biggest inspiration, Gary Dehler, his step father, was there to watch his son bring home the win.  Gary saw early on that Bobby had a natural talent for calling and urged him to make it his career.  Bobby said the first thought that went through his mind, as he stood on the stage being handed the trophy, with Noah and Gary at his side, was how would he ever be able to thank the man that changed his life.

Bobby D. has earned many degrees, designations and awards over his 15 year career including, 2014 US Bid Calling Champion, a Bachelor’s Degree from ASU in Communications, graduate of the Worldwide College of Auctioneers, member of the National Auctioneers Association, is a Benefit Auction Specialist, a past president of the Arizona Auctioneers Association, has completed the Advanced Auction Academy course of study and is currently a CAI candidate, which is the highest certification available for an auctioneer, and is the Lead Auctioneer and CEO for Call To Auction.  Now we add 2015 World Automobile Auctioneer Champion to the impressive list.

Ehlert does over 200 auctions a year and brings his energy and talent to each one.   He knows some of these charities only get one night a year to make a difference in people’s lives. The auctioneer’s job is to engage the audience and create an atmosphere of excitement and giving and Ehlert is dedicated to bring in every dollar he can.  Bobby is passionate about his role in bringing in donations to make the world a better place for his kids to grow up in.  Ehlert’s favorite moment every auction is to say “It’s been an honor and a pleasure to help tonight” and know it was a job well done.
