Interview with Osvaldo Golijov
Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24, The Phoenix Symphony performs a concert version of the opera Ainadamar: Fountain of Tears by Argentinean composer Osvaldo Golijov. A dream-like vision of the martyred poet Federico Garcia Lorca as his muse, Margarita Xirgu, nears the end of her own life, Ainadamar stars soprano Dawn Upshaw, mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor, soprano Emily Albrink, and flamenco tenor Jesus Montoya.

David Schildkret Discusses Hallelujah Chorus
David Schildkret is Professor of Music and Chair of the Choral Program at Arizona State University. Professor Shchikdkret sat down with KBAQ's Sterling Beeaff to discuss the upcoming performance of Handel's 'Messiah'. In this clip he addresses context, particularly the 'Hallelujah!' chorus, and some of the realities of doing the complete oratorio and not "seasonally adjusted' performance.
