The Juilliard String Quartet is the ASU Visiting Quartet in Residence for 2012-2013
Friday, April 12, 7:30pm, the Juilliard String Quartet presented a concert of Stravinsky, Janacek and Beethoven at the Katzin Concert Hall. The prolific quartet has spent the past season as the ASU Herberger Institute’s School of Music Visiting Quartet in Residence, providing ASU string players the “greatest educational chamber music experience possible.”

If you've ever thought about going back and picking up that old instrument you used to play as a kid, Ari Goldman's book "The Late Starter orchestra" may just give you the inspiration you need to do it.  Goldman, a former new York Times Reporter and Author of the book "The Search For God at Harvard", now teaches Journalism at Columbia, but once upon a time, he was a cellist.  or at least a cello student.  he decides to start playing again, and fins the group of amaeur string players called "The Late Starters Orchestra" that meets every week in an abandoned coat factory in Man
